The role of Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at Aston University involves both teaching and research responsibilities within the Department of Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering. The successful candidate will focus on areas such as data-driven mathematical modelling of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) control, navigation, remote sensing, multi-vehicle mission planning, energy, transport, manufacturing, fluid dynamics, biomedical mechatronic systems, or financial mathematics. The candidate should have a strong student-centered teaching approach with enthusiasm and experience in lecturing subjects related to probability and statistics, financial mathematics, applied and computational mathematics. A first degree in Mathematics and a PhD in Mathematics or a related discipline are required, along with a formal teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one. Experience with virtual learning environments such as Blackboard or Moodle is desirable. The lecturer will develop teaching materials, deliver lectures and tutorials, assess students, act as a personal tutor, participate in open days, and contribute to outreach activities.
