The ICT Technical Specialist role at Liverpool City Council is a permanent, full-time, on-site position based in Liverpool, focusing on managing, maintaining, and supporting the Council’s cloud-hosted server platforms, with particular emphasis on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Azure VMware Solution (AVS). The role involves hands-on expertise in Windows Server administration, virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, identity and access management through Azure AD and Group Policy, as well as backup and disaster recovery solutions. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the server infrastructure, handling incident management, problem diagnosis, and disaster recovery support. This role requires strong technical skills, practical experience in cloud and virtualized environments, and the ability to work in a public sector context to improve IT services for the community. Eligible candidates who require visa sponsorship may apply under the UK Skilled Worker visa, subject to Home Office criteria.
