Techmunity, a fast-growing deeptech AI company with a £8M Series A raise and trusted by global brands such as Red Bull, L’Oréal, and Coca-Cola, is seeking a Head of Software Engineering to lead and scale their engineering organization in preparation for a future CTO role. The company’s computer vision platform replaces manual stock checks with highly accurate automated insights, driving rapid commercial growth and 99%+ accuracy for field teams worldwide. As Head of Software Engineering, you will oversee two capable teams—Computer Vision (4 people) and Product Engineering (4 people)—providing strategy, structure, and leadership rather than hands-on coding. You will define and drive the engineering roadmap, lead AI project delivery from prototype to production, scale existing teams and build new ones as needed, mentor senior engineers, and work closely with founders to shape product strategy, fill skill gaps, and prepare the company for Series B and international expansion. The role requires 10+ years in software engineering/AI/ML, with 3+ years in leadership, experience scaling teams in a Series A/B startup, and strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, web and mobile app delivery, and data pipelines. The position offers a salary of circa £150,000 plus equity, hybrid work flexibility (1–2 days/week in London), 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, private medical/dental/optical/travel insurance, and visa sponsorship for eligible candidates, providing a career-defining opportunity to step into a future CTO position.
