Astroscale is hiring a Ground Systems Engineer to support the development and maintenance of mission-critical ground infrastructure and software for satellite operations. This full-time role, based in Didcot, Oxfordshire (hybrid), offers the opportunity to contribute to the entire ground segment lifecycle—from conceptual design to operational maintenance. The engineer will work on systems such as Mission Control, Mission Planning, and Ground Station interfaces while coordinating closely with internal teams and external suppliers. Responsibilities include deriving system requirements, leading verification and validation efforts, maintaining documentation, and participating in Agile (SCRUM) development cycles. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related engineering discipline and have a minimum of 2 years' experience in ground systems engineering. Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and knowledge of space mission development and Linux systems are essential. Experience with SCOS-2000, mission automation, C++ or Java programming, and familiarity with satellite communications and operations are desirable.
