About the job

IC Resources is seeking a Principal GPU Architect for a leading semiconductor R&D department, offering a UK-based remote or hybrid role with flexible salary based on experience, circa £100k+ (or higher for senior candidates), with potential visa sponsorship and relocation support for qualified applicants. The role involves designing and architecting GPU IPs and graphics hardware processors, contributing to next-generation IP strategy, and providing leadership within the GPU hardware team. Key responsibilities include defining high-level GPU architecture and micro-architecture, taking concepts through production and tape-out including performance review, costing, and optimization, understanding ASIC digital design flow, and ensuring adherence to verification frameworks such as UVM. Candidates should have 10+ years of experience with GPU design and architecture, strong understanding of modern 3D graphics or compute APIs (e.g., Vulkan, D3D12, OpenCL, CUDA), excellent communication skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with teams. Desirable skills include digital video processing, image signal processing, computer arithmetic/algorithm development, modelling (SystemC, UML, TLM2), graphics software development, and knowledge of functional safety standards such as ISO26262. This is a high-impact, multi-functional role for candidates passionate about defining cutting-edge GPU products and working with leading experts in the industry.
