About the job

IC Resources is actively hiring a highly motivated and detail-oriented Formal Verification Engineer to join an established verification group in Oxfordshire, England, with a competitive salary range of £55,000 to £85,000 depending on experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals with strong technical foundations in digital design and formal verification to work in the historic and globally recognized city of Oxford. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the correctness, safety, and reliability of complex digital designs by applying formal verification techniques. Responsibilities include developing and executing formal verification plans for both digital blocks and systems, identifying properties and invariants for formal methods, writing formal specifications using SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA), PSL, or similar languages, and analysing formal results including traces and counterexamples to work closely with design teams to resolve any identified issues. You’ll also be expected to integrate formal verification within broader verification strategies, combining simulation and emulation methods. This position demands strong familiarity with formal verification tools such as JasperGold, Questa Formal, or OneSpin, and requires documenting verification methodologies, best practices, and results. Ideal candidates will hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline and possess solid knowledge of RTL design languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL), digital logic design, Boolean algebra, and microarchitecture concepts, as well as common bus protocols. The role is open to both UK and international applicants, and full visa sponsorship and relocation support will be provided for successful candidates coming from outside the UK. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a collaborative and innovative environment, working on cutting-edge verification projects within a company known for technical excellence and global reach.
