About the job

Oxa is seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to lead its Software Infrastructure team, contributing to the development of a distributed high-performance system that supports cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technology. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple layers of modern software engineering, including large-scale data handling, caching, persistence, interprocess communication, low-level networking, and GPU-based machine learning workloads. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines, managing and enhancing core libraries within a complex C++ and Python codebase, and improving the overall reliability, security, and scalability of Oxa’s autonomy systems. You will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, prioritize support requests, and contribute to the long-term architectural evolution of the platform, with involvement in API design, migrations, usability improvements, and dependency management. The ideal candidate has a strong background in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, and containerization using Docker. A solid grasp of DevOps principles and experience with large-scale, production-grade systems is essential, along with strong communication and leadership skills. Additional experience with Conan (C++ package manager), software design and architecture, and mentoring junior engineers is highly desirable. Oxa offers a collaborative, inclusive hybrid work environment based in Oxford, UK, with a competitive salary, full visa sponsorship, funded relocation support, a flexible £3,000 benefits package, share options, and a pet-friendly office. Join Oxa’s world-class team of engineers, AI experts, and visionaries working to transform the future of mobility through universal autonomy.
