The Emissions CAE Engineer role at Quintessential Design Services Limited (QDSL) focuses on supporting the design and development of automotive propulsion systems using advanced CAE processes and simulation tools. This role is ideal for professionals with deep knowledge of gasoline engine emissions, regulatory compliance, and virtual modelling. The engineer will be responsible for developing and validating sophisticated simulation models using software such as AVL Cruise, GT-Suite, or MATLAB/Simulink to analyse exhaust gas composition, emission levels, and system performance. Key responsibilities include optimizing combustion and aftertreatment systems to reduce pollutants like CO₂, NOₓ, HC, and particulate matter, supporting calibration activities with simulation insights, and contributing to regulatory reporting. The role requires close collaboration with engineering and product teams to ensure alignment with project goals and the continual improvement of simulation methodologies. Applicants must have at least five years of experience in emissions simulation or engine design, with a strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and chemical kinetics. In return, QDSL offers a competitive salary, UK work visa sponsorship for eligible candidates, the opportunity to work on world-class development projects, 28 days of holiday including bank holidays, and a pension scheme. Hybrid working is available, offering flexibility between home and onsite work at the West Midlands location.
