Astroscale UK is seeking an Embedded Flight Software Engineer to join its team in Harwell, Didcot (Hybrid), working on innovative orbital debris removal missions like ELSA-M. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with experience in real-time embedded software development, particularly in C/C++ and real-time operating systems such as VxWorks or RTEMS. The role involves designing, developing, and validating onboard flight software for satellites, defining ICDs and verification plans, coordinating with other subsystem teams, and supporting mission system test and simulation activities. Candidates should have a relevant degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, and should be skilled in testing, debugging, version control (Git), and working independently. Desirable experience includes work in the space sector, knowledge of CCSDS, CAN, Spacewire protocols, NASA cFS, ECSS standards, PowerPC architecture, and Linux system development.
