About the job

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic team behind the new Leighton Hospital campus under the New Hospital Programme. This role, primarily focused on the digital delivery of Smart Buildings for the Healthier Futures programme, involves developing and implementing components such as data standards, BIM, digital twin, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Energy Management systems. The Digital Project Manager will support technical strategy development, ensure interoperability and cybersecurity across systems and platforms, and guarantee that data produced is owned by MCHT and interchangeable with external market products. Responsibilities also include providing commercial and procurement input for smart and digital technologies, contributing to business cases (OBC and FBC), and working collaboratively with estates, facilities, digital teams, technical partners, and construction teams. The role supports the delivery of intelligent hospital capabilities, and the candidate should have technical expertise in digital and data services, preferably within the NHS estate environment, with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. The post holder should understand Operational and Clinical Estates functions, be familiar with clinical systems, and have the ability to manage complex, large-scale problems. They will lead project planning for digital proof-of-concept and smart technology implementation on the Trust network. Occasionally, the role may require patient interaction to gather feedback on digital initiatives. Essential qualifications include a degree in IT, digital, engineering, estates, or facilities, along with experience in smart hospitals or digital estates. Project management certifications (e.g. PRINCE2), experience with COBie methodology, policy development, and excellent digital literacy are desirable. The position is permanent, full-time, and based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, with a salary band of £37,338 to £44,962 per year.
