About the job

Astroscale is hiring a Digital Electronics Engineer at its Harwell, UK facility (Didcot) to support the design, development, and testing of Command & Data Handling (C&DH) subsystems for advanced spacecraft missions. This full-time hybrid role involves engaging in the complete lifecycle of electronic systems—from early design and subsystem architecture to testing, integration, and verification activities. The engineer will manage subsystem requirements, define data budgets, plan and conduct verification tests, and coordinate with teams across system levels, ground segments, and suppliers. Required qualifications include a diploma or degree in electrical or related engineering fields and at least two years of experience in spacecraft C&DH system design, including familiarity with interfaces and protocols such as I2C, RS422, CAN, and CCSDS. Desired skills include FPGA design with Verilog/VHDL, Python scripting, cleanroom hardware testing, and knowledge of GNSS, radiation hardness, or in-orbit servicing. Astroscale offers competitive salaries, private healthcare, flexible work arrangements, relocation support, and visa sponsorship. The company is a global leader in orbital debris removal and is committed to sustainable space operations, offering candidates the chance to contribute to meaningful, cutting-edge space technology initiatives within a diverse and dynamic international team.
