About the job

IC Resources is seeking an experienced and driven DFT (Design for Test) Engineer to join a dynamic and innovative UK-headquartered fabless semiconductor company, known for delivering custom ASIC design and supply services across a wide spectrum of industries such as automotive, industrial, healthcare, communications, and consumer electronics. This mid-to-senior level position is open to individuals with 5 to 10 years of hands-on DFT experience and a strong academic background, with an opportunity to work from one of their UK offices in Bristol, Cambridge, or the Thames Valley. The successful candidate will take ownership of the complete DFT flow, including Built-In Self-Test (BIST), ATPG (Automatic Test Pattern Generation), and all relevant test-pattern generation tasks required for complex digital and mixed-signal ASIC designs. Key responsibilities include setting up, running, and maintaining EDA tool flows, integrating DFT into the development process in collaboration with both Front-End and Back-End engineering teams, ensuring customer requirements for fault coverage and test strategies are fully met, and generating all necessary test specification documentation for subcontracted test services. Applicants must have demonstrated expertise across multiple successful ASIC projects and a strong understanding of DFT architecture specification, tool-based and manual implementation methods, IP integration (including CPUs, Analog Macros, and IO PHYs), memory BIST, at-speed testing, fault coverage improvement, STA constraint generation, and low-power design testing. Familiarity with RTL and gate-level simulations, debugging, and proficiency in Verilog or VHDL are essential, along with knowledge of complete SoC design flows and associated methodologies. The role offers a highly competitive salary package ranging from £50,000 to £90,000 depending on experience, along with share options and performance-based bonuses. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified candidates. This is a great opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge semiconductor projects within a supportive, fast-paced, and technically rich environment.
