Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Deputy Head of Data Engineering to join its Business Intelligence Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining innovative digital information systems to support the Medical Director’s Office, with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server and/or Apache Spark big data processing environments. This includes creating algorithms and data pipelines to process and transform data for both clinical and operational use. The role requires expert-level SQL skills and preferably experience in Python or PySpark. The Deputy Head will liaise with clinical stakeholders, manage projects, oversee technical infrastructure, and ensure systems meet NHS reporting and governance standards. Applicants should have demonstrable experience in healthcare informatics, strong analytical and communication skills, and a structured, diagnostic approach to solving complex data issues. The position is full-time, permanent, and hybrid, based at St Mary’s Hospital, London, and it offers a salary range of £61,927 to £68,676 per annum inclusive. Visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route is available for eligible candidates.
