Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Data and Insight Team, driving innovation and improving services across the community. This permanent, full-time role (37 hours/week) involves building and optimising data infrastructure using Microsoft Fabric, developing and maintaining ETL pipelines, integrating data from multiple sources, supporting enterprise-level data models, and creating data warehouses for analysis, reporting, and performance optimisation. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues to translate complex technical information into actionable insights, contribute to meaningful projects, and support smarter decision-making across the council. Candidates should have experience designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure, knowledge of data modelling and architecture, hands-on expertise with ETL processes (ideally Azure Data Factory), and strong communication skills.
