About the job

Selby Jennings is hiring a Blockchain Engineer to design and build high-performance Ethereum infrastructure, focusing on MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) and low-latency block-building systems. This role involves taking ownership of greenfield projects, scaling sequencing capabilities, and contributing to decentralized finance infrastructure. Candidates should have a strong systems engineering background, experience with Rust or similar low-level languages, and proven ability to drive projects end-to-end from design to deployment. Familiarity with L1/L2 blockchain infrastructure, protocol-level development, MEV, testnet setup, node operations, or smart contract workflows is highly desirable. The role requires strong system design skills, backend/distributed systems experience, and a solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals and Ethereum architecture. Ideal candidates are self-starters, comfortable working autonomously in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and capable of quickly ramping up in unfamiliar domains. The position offers competitive base salary, profit-sharing cash bonus, equity, full relocation support, and visa sponsorship, with an opportunity to work on some of the most technically challenging problems in blockchain at a collaborative, flat-structured London-based team.
