About the job

The Avionics Embedded Software Engineer role at GE Aerospace involves leading the full software development lifecycle for Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) systems, primarily for rotorcraft platforms. The position focuses on designing, developing, and testing embedded software using C++ for real-time processing of vibration signals and managing data acquisition, processing, storage, and access. The engineer will work within a highly regulated aerospace environment, ensuring compliance with engineering processes such as DO-178C DAL D, and contributing to continuous integration and testing efforts. The role includes solving complex software issues, supporting less experienced team members, and participating in Agile development processes. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, at least 4 years of experience in embedded software development, and familiarity with tools like Python and SQLite. Knowledge of rotorcraft Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS), Powertrain Vibration Monitoring (PVM), and Rotor Track and Balance (RTB) is desirable, along with experience in DO-178C DAL B. The position is based in Chandler’s Ford, UK, offers hybrid working (up to 4 days remote), and includes a flexible benefits package, bonus scheme, and relocation assistance. Applications from candidates requiring visa sponsorship are welcomed and will be considered.
