Aden Engineering & Consultancy Ltd is seeking a technically strong Industrial Automation and Control Engineer to join their expanding portfolio of projects in the automotive and advanced manufacturing sectors in Birmingham, UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming and integrating PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, commissioning and troubleshooting systems on-site, and migrating legacy control platforms to modern architectures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on automation projects, manage project timelines and deliverables, prepare project documentation, and stay updated with emerging automation technologies and industry best practices. The role requires providing technical support and training to clients, extensive programming experience with legacy Rockwell products and software such as Automax, Ultra3000, PanelView, ControlLogix, RSLogix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, and knowledge of cybersecurity, Safety Integrity Levels (SIL), and compliance standards in industrial environments. Applicants must hold a BSc or MSc in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering, have 5+ years of hands-on experience in factory automation and control, and demonstrate proficiency in English (minimum B2 IELTS for UKVI). Desirable skills include exposure to robotics, machine vision, IIoT platforms, and the ability to read electrical schematics and design functional safety concepts.
