As an Assistive Technology Engineer at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will provide highly specialised electronic environmental control services to adults and children with complex disabilities, enhancing their independence, safety, and quality of life. Your responsibilities will include assessing, prescribing, installing, maintaining, and refurbishing assistive technology devices tailored to individual client needs, managing equipment stock, and ensuring compliance with service standards and safety protocols. You will work autonomously across a geographically diverse region, liaising with social services, care agents, and health professionals, while participating in training, continuous professional development, audits, and evaluation of products. The role also involves contributing to service development, implementing improvements, providing technical advice and training to professionals, patients, carers, and family members, and ensuring efficient management of resources to meet client needs. Applicants are expected to hold or be working towards an engineering degree and be experienced in clinical or assistive technology engineering.
