Mistral AI is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Applied AI Engineer to join their dynamic team in London, focusing on driving the adoption and successful deployment of their state-of-the-art AI products among customers. This role is integral to the Applied AI Engineering team, which bridges cutting-edge AI research and real-world production environments, working closely with clients from diverse industries including CEOs, CTOs, data scientists, and software engineers. The successful candidate will be responsible for onboarding customers onto Mistral’s innovative AI platforms and APIs, providing expert guidance on effective prompting, evaluation, and fine-tuning of large language models (LLMs), ensuring seamless integration with both back-end and front-end systems. You will individually lead production deployments of impactful AI use cases, collaborating with Mistral’s researchers, AI engineers, and product teams to solve complex technical challenges involving advanced AI applications such as generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic systems. This position requires deep technical expertise in Python programming, proficiency with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, familiarity with agent frameworks such as Langchain, vector databases, and a strong foundation in machine learning concepts and algorithms. The role demands excellent communication skills to clearly articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, along with a customer-focused mindset to understand client needs and tailor solutions accordingly. The engineer will also participate in pre-sales technical discussions, contributing to client education and Mistral’s product improvements based on direct feedback.
