The company is building scalable quantum networking infrastructure by integrating novel quantum photonic technology in collaboration with world-leading academic groups and industry partners. The AMO Theory and Simulation Group Lead will report to the Head of Engineering and Operations and lead the team responsible for designing ion-traps and benchmarking quantum networking protocols. The role includes mentoring the technical team, guiding system-level decision-making, improving workflows, contributing to company strategy, and coordinating with both experimental and technical leads. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring expertise in AMO physics, simulation tools like Comsol or ANSYS, master-equation modelling using QutiP, MathLab, or Mathematica, and a strong understanding of qubit control, optical systems, and electronics. The candidate will also manage budgets, oversee technical documentation, and represent Nu Quantum at external industry and research events. Applicants should have experience leading teams in industry or academia and possess excellent communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills. The role is based in Cambridge, UK, is full-time and permanent, offers a salary starting from £80,000 (DOE), and comes with visa sponsorship and comprehensive benefits.
