Nu Quantum, a pioneering quantum technology company based in Cambridge, UK, is seeking a highly skilled AMO Engineer to contribute to the development of a quantum-network demonstrator, focusing on trapped-ion physics. This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary ranging from £45,000 to £60,000, depending on experience, and includes visa sponsorship. The successful candidate will join a collaborative AMO team, working on the design and testing of ion trap devices, integration with microcavities, operation of quantum optics laboratories, and coordination with fabrication teams. Applicants should hold a PhD in AMO Physics, Ion Trapping, or a related field, with hands-on experience in quantum control of qubits, optical and electronic hardware, ultra-high vacuum systems, and automation. Desirable qualifications include familiarity with ARTIQ control systems, cryogenics, cavity QED, narrow linewidth lasers, cleanroom practices, and ion-trap design.
