Orbex is seeking an experienced AIT Instrument Technician to support the development, construction, and maintenance of test facilities for the Orbex Prime launch vehicle and its ground support systems (E-GSE). This full-time role is based in Forres, Moray, with significant work at the Kinloss test site and occasional travel to the Shetland Isle. The technician will be responsible for designing, installing, testing, and maintaining instrumentation circuits and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with ATEX regulations where applicable. The role includes performing cabling, glanding, PAT testing, fault finding, creating BoMs, and maintaining registers for electrical and ATEX equipment. Candidates should have an Electrical Apprenticeship (SVQ Level 3), BS 7671:2018 certifications, and experience with hazardous environments and electrical/avionics systems. Additional desirable experience includes ATEX-certified products, CompEx certification, PLC work, and lightning protection systems. A strong understanding of wiring diagrams, schematics, and documentation is required.
