As an AI Scientist at Mistral AI, you will be instrumental in advancing the performance of their models by developing novel research methods and evaluating these models across a wide range of use cases such as reasoning, code generation, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool use, and agents, spanning multiple data modalities including text, images, and speech. You will build and improve tooling to facilitate data handling and accelerate modeling iterations, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including scientists, engineers, and product developers to deliver innovative AI applications that push the boundaries of technology. Candidates should have strong proficiency in Python and at least one additional programming language such as Rust, Go, or Java, coupled with hands-on experience in AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX. A proven scientific track record, high technical engineering competence to design and deploy complex software in production, and a collaborative, autonomous, team-player mindset are essential. Experience with generative AI models, especially transformer architectures, a publication record, and familiarity with full MLOps stacks and audio/speech processing will be highly valued.
