The role involves creating functional and high-fidelity, cycle-accurate simulators of the optical compute system, performing workload analysis for LLMs, diffusion, and graph workloads, conducting design-space exploration to guide software, hardware, and optical teams, and developing Python/C++ tools for automation and performance testing.
