Vertex Search is partnered with a newly-launched AI startup based in London, seeking a mission-driven AI Engineer to advance forecasting accuracy by creating new sources of data for training and information retrieval, building tool-using LLM agents, and running experiments to evaluate improvements to the forecasting system. The role involves onboarding new information sources, creatively finding forecasting questions for reinforcement learning, collaborating with the team on research tasks, and implementing scalable solutions. Candidates should have exceptional Python coding skills, experience sourcing and evaluating datasets (preferably in quant finance or similar), familiarity with LLM agent frameworks such as LangGraph, DSPy, or PydanticAI, and prior experience in research or lab settings. Strong academic achievement (minimum BSc in STEM) is required, with a structured, analytical mindset, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic. The position is on-site, 5 days per week, at London’s King’s Cross office, and the client may offer visa sponsorship for exceptional candidates.
